Anyone can hit financially difficult times. When it happens to someone in our community Matan B'Seter Detroit (MBD) is there to provide financial assistance to help them through their struggle.
With your ongoing support we can continue to provide help to those in our community who turn to MBD for the support they need.
Since it’s founding in 1989 MBD has provided critical financial aid to qualified families and individuals in the Metropolitan Detroit Jewish Community experiencing severe financial distress, following the Talmudic principal, “The needy of your city take precedence.”
MBD is completely volunteer run, and every dollar raised goes directly to those in need.
Assistance is provided in an honorable fashion and any identifying information is know only to our gabbaim.
MBD is a qualified 501(c)(3) organization, with all donations being tax deductible.
Assistance We Provide
01.
Day to Day
Water, electric, heat, gas... - utilities and basics you can't imagine being without. We assist families every month who are struggling to pay these ongoing bills.
02.
Unexpected Events
Unforseen medical bills, a broken furnace in the winter, or a car that breaks down. Everyone encounters unanticipated expenses but not everyone has the means to get past them.
03.
Yom Tov
As Yom Tov approaches many cringes as they think of the assistance, financial and otherwise, that they will need to make it through the holiday season. Your support enables many families to enjoy Yom Tov with one less worry.
04.
Simchos
Everyone looks forward to life’s joyous events, such as bar mitzvahs and weddings. But people who are unable pay their monthly bills cannot save for the future. MBD helps alleviate the large cost and helps the celebration be more enjoyable.
